I don't know what it is, but I love April Fool's Day.  Here's what's written on my chalkboard. 8th graders are so vulnerable.

April 1

Today you will....

1.  Take test over chapters 6-13 (Hope you studied--it's a doozy).

2.  Essay -- Analyze the impact of  cultural identity and economic independence on 19th century Sioux culture as it rlates to a growing sense of feminism. You must use 10 primary sources including one that you translate from the original Lakota.

3.  Choreograph an interpretive dance about the life of Rutherford B. Hayes. You must create the costumes in accurate period detail.

Homework (1-3 due by the beginning of class tomorrow)

1.  Read David McCulloch's John Adams  pages 25-482 and create an annotated outline.

2.  Visit on of the following and create a 30 minute infomercial about your trip (you may need to build a time machine)

                     a.  Philadelphia -- 1776
                     b.  Phymouth, MA -- 1620
                     c.  Gettysburg, PA -- 1863

3.  Use a cotton gin of your own making to process 8 bales of cotton. sping and dye the thread and weave a 6 foot long tapestry commemorating the Gadsen Purchase.

Not too hard, huh?

Then, I did the following on my website. (everything listed under April 1 is false.

Amazing :) An interpretive dance of Rutherford B. Hayes? Bwahahahaa. Pure genius.

I also extend my congratulations on being member's choice; it's a title well earned!
